About the Author
Akhil Govil is more than just an author — he’s a father, entrepreneur, educator, and lifelong advocate for children and families. After a successful career as an engineer and executive, Akhil followed a calling that changed the trajectory of his life: supporting the next generation through early childhood education.
In 2010, he transitioned from the boardroom to the classroom by becoming the owner of several Goddard Schools in the Washington D.C. metro area. There, he didn’t just lead — he listened. To children. To parents. To educators. He saw firsthand the challenges modern families face and the powerful, positive impact that intentional parenting can have on a child’s development.
Akhil has dedicated decades to early childhood education, founding The Goddard Schools and developing programs that empower children and parents alike. As a speaker and author, he combines research-driven strategies with real-world parenting insights to help families thrive in today’s complex world.
Over the years, Akhil has worn many hats — from business leader and volunteer to mentor and nonprofit founder. His work has earned him recognition for promoting youth leadership, cultural understanding, and family wellness. But it’s his daily interactions with children and parents that inspired his most personal and impactful project yet: Parenting in Turbulent Times.
